Fate and I

played cards

today.

She’s wicked good at 

‘Poke her’.
Even better at 
‘Screw her’.
And when she dealt me in
a rousing hand of 
‘Oh, just fuck her’, 
she took me for 
everything I was worth.

I don’t mind, apparently,
because I keep showing up 
with my chips.
I’m just grateful
she hasn’t kicked me out 
of the casino yet.
