New Addition

See this guy above?,..well,
He was a purchase that finally arrived
.. On a day he felt fitting to come..
..and..
just when I needed reminding
on my journey through this life
to take more time
to just be still.

To Much To Ask For?

Hearts on Fire

Love is a fire.
But whether it is going
to warm your heart
or
burn down your house...
...you can never tell

Au wa wakaré no hajimé.

(Meeting is only the beginning of separation)

Regret and desire are equally vain

in this world of impermanency;

for all joy

is the beginning of an experience

that must have its pain

eat, pray, love

"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants.
But a true soul mate is a mirror,
the person who shows you everything that is holding you back,
the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet,
because they tear down your walls and smack you awake.
But to live with a soul mate forever?
Nah. Too painful.
Soul mates,
they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you,
and then leave.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up,
tear apart your ego a little bit,
show you your obstacles and addictions,
break your heart open so new light can get in,
make you so desperate and out of control
that you have to transform your life..."

let go

Some people believe
that holding on & hanging in
are signs of GREAT strength
...however...
there are times
when it takes MORE strength
....to just let go.........

the humidity must make me crabby

I am the only person
( and when I say Person, I mean *Domestic Diva*)
who is pissed off @ Kelly Ripa and Electrolux?
You know that commercial?,...
...yeah, yeah,..
I don't catch many commercials either ever since the DVR was invented
(and I gained 2 kids and a husband)

..BUT..

Have you seen any of the Electrolux commercials with Kelly Ripa?
You know, the ones where she manages her high pressure job(s),
makes cupcakes,
has a dinner party, washes, folds and puts away clothes,
makes chocolate strawberries,
hosts a sleepover..
and a birthday party for a dog,...
all while never breaking a sweat,
or stopping to shove 4 oreos in her mouth
to gain that 3pm sugar rush
that helps sail you smoothly into 8:30 ice cream overdose,
not to mention,...all while weighing in at a meek 98lbs of perfection
and not a Damn hair extension out of place,
all set to the Bewitched theme...!?!??
I mean, ..What the hell?
Now, I never really considered myself a harsh feminist.
I'm still impressed by a man who offers to carry my luggage,
offers me a his seat on a full train/bus ride,
or opens a door for me here or there,
.. or brings me flowers at the drop of a 'hanky'.
Actually that last part was a lie.
Nobody has ever brought me flowers spontaneously.
That's only happened after arguments,
wrong doings and slightly broken spirits.
And I'm not sure I'd care for them otherwise.
You would get a better (sexual) response
from bringing me a fresh drink with a lime.
BUT ANYWAYS~
Am I the only one who sees these as a giant feminist backlash?
Can you possibly shove the 'be more amazing' down our throats any harder???
THIS IS A WRONG TURN IF EVER THERE WAS ONE!
I am saying that when a high profile woman like this,
and a multi-million dollar company
tells us that we need to
"be more amazing"
"because they make it effortless"
and we are all OK with that...
then we are doing it wrong.
The LAST THING being a mother/homemaker/ stay at home mom/dad is
is EFFORTLESS.
But you keep playing those commercials Electrolux,
.. and while your at it
can you photo shop Kelly's teeth whiter,
.. because I don't think we have enough depression,
anxiety, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, isolation, etc. in America.
So Kelly, you tell Fido Happy Birthday!.. and keep being "more amazing,"
I'll be over here yelling at my kids
and looking for tonights Baseball Jersey in my
DIRTY laundry pile.
Oh and Electrolux?
If you want my undivided and un-cynical attention,
and my hard earned dollars
spent on your over-priced hunks of steel and plastic,
how about showing a man using them?

* magic *

I'm convinced
you have
*magic*
in your fingertips

because

I can feel it leak out
all over my skin
every time
you touch me

unlimited

I've been somewhat uneasy lately
with the nearness of my youngest
heading off to full time school

For years I thought it like a pass
that would give my heart wings again
and allow me to soar into my own desired destinations

and yet I'm aware
I clearly haven't given my heart enough heed over the past few years
even when some days it screamed at me to be heard

I will have to spend some time reconciling with it
before it can learn to trust even me again.
